Genital herpes is spread only by direct person-to-person contact especially through sex. Treatment of herpes is through medication by mouth. If you know you have contacted herpes it is best to avoid sex with your partners, it is important not to touch the eyes or mouth after touching the blisters or ulcers. Never mixed your clothing with others when washing, it is best to hand wash your clothing.
